Feed rejected or products flagged
When a channel rejects the feed or flags products: usual causes for Google, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Cimri and Akakçe, and how to read the feed's issues.
Troubleshooting Requires the free plan or higher Verified: October 2026 · v0.1 Draft
Draft: written from the product plan before launch. Screenshots are added when the app is released and the steps are re-verified.
If you see: “Feed could not be fetched”, “Item disapproved”, “Limited performance due to missing identifiers”, products missing on the channel, or a feed with the Error or Stale status under Export.
Usually caused by: a field the channel requires is empty or in the wrong format (most common), the price or availability in the file differs from your product page, or the channel cannot reach the file or your product pages.
Solution A: read the feed’s issues first
- Open Export and the feed. Products in feed and Left out show the result of the last run.
- Issues in the last run groups problems by type, for example “No barcode (GTIN) · 10 products”, with a short fix and the affected products linked to Shopify. Left out of feed means the product is not in the file; In feed, missing info means it is in the file, but the channel may rank it lower or flag it. Download CSV gives the full list.
- Fix the products in Shopify, or change the filter that applies to the feed (see Filters and price rules). Product changes reach the feed within minutes; to rebuild at once, choose Regenerate now.
The most common issues:
| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| No image | Add at least one product image; the product is left out until then |
| Missing or zero price | Give the variant a price in the feed’s market |
| Not published on the online store | Publish the product on the Online Store; channels need a product page link |
| Not published in this market | Publish the product in the feed’s market in Shopify Markets |
| No barcode (GTIN) | Fill in the variant barcode; the product stays in the feed with identifier_exists set to no |
| Invalid barcode | Correct the barcode; an invalid one is left out of the item |
| No brand / No brand, barcode or MPN | Fill in the product vendor, or add a Brand field template |
| Empty description | Add a description; the title is used until then |
| Currency mismatch | The channel needs another currency than the feed’s market, so the run fails and the file is not updated; pick the right market |
Solution B: Google Merchant Center
| Diagnostics message | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Limited performance due to missing identifiers | No barcode on the variant | Add barcodes where products have one; items without any stay valid with identifier_exists as no |
| Mismatched value (page crawl): price | Feed price differs from the page Google crawls | Match the feed market to the page currency; review markup and rounding rules |
| Mismatched value (page crawl): availability | Google crawled between a stock change and the next file | Stock changes reach the feed within minutes; if it persists, choose Regenerate now |
| Image too small / invalid image | Below Google’s minimum size, or not crawlable | Replace the image |
| Missing shipping information | No shipping in the account | Set shipping in Merchant Center account settings |
| Fetch failed | URL truncated when pasted | Copy the URL again with Copy URL on the feed page |
Solution C: Meta, TikTok, Snapchat
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Missing brand (Meta, TikTok) | Product without a vendor | Fill the vendor, or add a Brand field template |
| Invalid availability (Meta) | A Google feed was added to the Meta catalog | Create a Meta feed from the channel gallery and use its URL |
| Catalog currency mismatch (TikTok) | Feed market differs from the catalog’s country and currency | One feed per market, one catalog per country |
| Missing identifier (Snapchat) | No brand, barcode or MPN | Fill the vendor or add a barcode |
| Image rejected (Snapchat) | GIF as the first image | Use a JPG or PNG first; the issues list shows GIF image not accepted |
| Title rejected (TikTok, Akakçe) | Promotional words or emoji | Clean the title in Shopify, or rewrite it with a Title field template |
Solution D: Cimri and Akakçe
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Product not listed on Cimri | Empty description, zero price, or price without VAT | Fill the description and price; add an Add VAT (%) price rule if store prices exclude VAT |
| Cimri: wrong category | Category not clear from the product | Fill the product type or category in Shopify, or set Product type / category or Google product category with a field template |
| Akakçe: product missing | Brand, shipping cost or dispatch days empty | Check the Akakçe fields on the feed’s Edit settings page and the product vendor |
| Akakçe: Same-day cutoff missing | Dispatch days set to 0 without a cutoff hour | Enter the order cutoff hour on Edit settings |
| Akakçe: price warning | VAT-exclusive price | Add an Add VAT (%) price rule |
| Akakçe: feed never fetched | Crawler blocked or URL changed (unverified) | Allow Akakçe’s crawler; send the URL to Akakçe again |
Solution E: the file itself
- Open the feed URL in a browser. It must start with
<?xmland load within a few seconds. Under the URL on the feed page, Last fetched shows when a channel last downloaded it and which one. - Stale: the last generation failed, so the URL keeps serving the last good file, and the response carries
X-Buinbu-Feed-Status: stale. Look at Recent runs for the failed run, fix the cause and choose Regenerate now. - Over plan limit: variants above your plan’s limit are left out (Plan limit reached in the issues). Upgrade or narrow the feed with a filter (plans).
- Paused: the URL keeps serving the last file without updates; choose Resume.
