Draft: written from the product plan before launch. Screenshots are added when the app is released and the steps are re-verified.
This guide takes you from a freshly installed app to a feed URL a channel can fetch. At the end the feed page shows the URL with a Copy URL button, and the URL opens as XML in a browser. Time: about 5 minutes.
Before you start
- Buinbu XML Feed is installed and the Getting started card on the home page shows “Your products were read” as done (Install Buinbu XML Feed).
- Your products are active and published on the Online Store sales channel: the feed links to their product pages. Draft and archived products are not included.
- You know which channel you want to reach first. In Türkiye that is often Akakçe or Cimri; Google Merchant Center is a safe start elsewhere, and Meta accepts the same file.
Steps
- On the home page choose Create feed, or open Export and choose Create feed there.
- Pick a channel. Feed templates shows nine channel logos: Akakçe, Cimri, Google Merchant Center, Meta, TikTok Ads, Snapchat Ads, Pinterest, Microsoft Shopping and Perplexity. Type in the search box, or choose Show all channels for a list with a one-line summary and a Create button per channel.
- Feed name and market. Keep or change the Feed name, pick the Market (country) and check Currency. The currency must be the market’s currency; Akakçe and Cimri lock it to TRY.
- Product selection. Leave gift cards out is on. Leave Leave out-of-stock products out off: channels prefer an out-of-stock value to a product that disappears.
- Filters. Tick saved filters to narrow the products or change prices and titles; you can add them later (Filters, price rules and stock).
- Akakçe shipping (Akakçe only): the shipping fee, the dispatch time in business days and, for same-day dispatch, the cut-off hour.
- Refresh. Set the Refresh frequency in minutes. The help text shows the shortest interval your plan allows (plans).
- Choose Create feed. The feed page opens with “Feed created. The first file is being generated.” Small catalogs finish within a minute; reload the page to see the result.
Copy the URL
Under Feed URL choose Copy URL. The line below reads “Paste this URL into … It never changes.” Hand the URL to the channel now: Google Merchant Center, Meta, TikTok Ads, Snapchat, Pinterest, Microsoft, Perplexity, Cimri or Akakçe.
Check that it works
- The feed page shows the status Active and fills Products in feed, Left out, Last update and Next update.
- Open the URL in a browser tab: you see an XML document that starts with
<?xmland lists your products. - After you add the URL to the channel, the line under it changes to “Last fetched: … · Google” (or the channel’s name), and the Getting started card marks “Add the feed URL to the channel” as done.
Reading the issues
Issues in the last run groups problems by type. Left out of feed means the products are not in the file; In feed, missing info means they are in the file but the channel may rank or match them worse. The rest of the file is complete either way.
| Issue | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No barcode (GTIN) | Neither barcode nor SKU on the variant | Fill in the barcode in Shopify where the product has one; Google then gets identifier_exists as no |
| Invalid barcode | The barcode failed validation and was left out of the item | Check the barcode |
| Missing or zero price | Variants without a price are left out | Set a price in Shopify |
| No image | Channels need at least one product image | Add an image |
| No brand | The product vendor is empty; Meta and TikTok leave such products out | Fill in the vendor |
| Empty description | The product title was used instead | Add a description |
Download CSV next to the summary gives the full list with product IDs. All issue types: Feed rejected or products flagged.
Next steps
- Narrow the products or change prices: Filters, price rules and stock.
- Rewrite titles or add custom labels: Rewrite feed fields with templates.
